Pneumatic Ultrasonic Welding Kit

  • Various designs
  • Direct material welding
  • Welding of plastic foils, non-woven fabrics, webbing, boxes, packaging, etc.

Description

The pneumatic ultrasonic welding kit is designed for the direct welding of plastic materials. It is suitable for a wide range of components requiring higher clamping force and increased ultrasonic power. The key advantages are high process repeatability and consistent weld quality.

Applications

Due to the vast variety of existing plastic materials, the suitability of ultrasonic welding for a specific application must be tested in advance. The process is ideal for welding plastic foils, non-woven fabrics, and similar materials. It can also be used for joining other materials using appropriate plastic rivets.

How does it work?

The materials to be welded are placed on top of each other. Once the switch is activated, the pneumatic cylinder presses the sonotrode onto the upper part. The ultrasonic vibrations cause local friction and melting, resulting in a weld at the contact point. After the vibrations cease, the sonotrode continues to apply pressure for a short period to ensure the required joint strength. The sonotrode then returns to its home position.

The welding kit includes

  • Pneumatically controlled stand
  • Ultrasonic generator UZG10
  • Ultrasonic transducer
  • Welding sonotrode
  • Fixture according to customer requirements
  • Foot switch (Not included in the standard delivery)

Sonotrode

The sonotrode is the component applied to the material that creates the welded joint.
